The standard Trekker’s Friend caters for backpacks up to 35 cm wide at the base, but it is possible to order Trekker’s Friends that cater for backpacks that are wider than that (ie. 40 cm and 45 cm, and they can also be custom-made). This page explains how measure the base of your backpack to get the right size Trekker’s Friend.

How to measure
Measure the width of your backpack at the base when packed, as shown in the photo.
For the standard Trekker’s Friend, the width of your backpack at the base should be no more than 35 cm. If your backpack is larger, choose the width of the Trekker’s Friend that you need at the time of ordering. If none of the sizes available is appropriate for your backpack please get in contact.

In use
The width of your backpack is the width at the base, as shown in the photo. The backpack, when packed, needs to fit between the wheel guards. In the standard Trekker’s Friend, the wheel guards are approximately 35 cm apart.
